The Six Nations 2020 starts this Saturday and England will be taking to the field on Sunday for their first game against France.
England Head Coach, Eddie Jones, has named eight uncapped players in his 34-man squad for the tournament. He is hoping to bring some young players into the side to keep building the depth.
We’ve picked out the three best kickers to watch for this month.
Jacob Umaga
A real talent on our ones to watch list is Jacob Umaga. As the name may suggest, the 21-year-old has some well-known relatives. He is the son of former Samoa star Mike Umaga, as well as nephew to the All Blacks legendary centre Tana Umaga.
Playing for Wasps he has shown exactly what he can bring. In the 2019/2020 season, he has already made 18 conversions, 8 penalty kicks and contributed 70 points. A highlight for Jacob was his game against Leicester Tigers in 2018 where he made 5 conversions and 1 try. Keep your eyes on him this tournament.
George Furbank
The fullback for Northampton Saints will be fired up for this one. The 23-year-old has added 15 points to the Saints current successful season and 42 points overall for the club.
Furbank’s speed and balance in open space is there for all to see and shows why Eddie has put his faith in the youngster. He came through the ranks at his hometown club in Huntingdon before joining the Saints' academy. Now the sky is the limit.
Ben Earl
Ben Earl is another up and coming player to watch in this Six Nations. The Saracens back row has shone in the current Premiership leading the try-scoring table so far with 6 tires and making 12 clean breaks he’s some talent.
Earl has already had a taste of the England set-up. He wore the No8 jersey in the same age group team as World Cup star Tom Curry, before being taken on tour to South Africa in 2018 as one of Jones' apprentices.
