Women’s Six Nations 2020

The Women’s Six Nations 2020 Championship starts this weekend and England will be taking to the field for their first game against France on Sunday at 12:30 GMT.

England head coach Simon Middleton is adamant that the Red Roses will not underestimate France in their opener, despite winning their last four meetings between the two sides. The reigning Grand Slam champions England, are tipped as favourites.

Our very own Emily Scarratt and Katy Daley-McLean are once again representing the Red Roses at this competition. The pair have developed an almost telepathic relationship over the years playing for the Loughborough Lightning. They are our special guest coaches for the ‘Women Only Kicking Workshop’ taking place at Loughborough University on the 7th of April. With this in mind, here are their player profiles ahead of the Women's Six Nations 2020.

Emily Scarratt

Emily Scarratt is still considered one of the most gifted players of her generation. Although she suffered a hamstring injury in the 2014 World Cup, she is hopeful of playing a key part in this tournament. Emily has recorded 378 points in 74 appearances during her international career. She was the top point-scorer, with 70, at the 2014 World Cup and also bagged 56 points at the 2017 World Cup as England reached the final.

Katy Daley-McLean

Katy ended the last Six Nations as the top points scorer, with 53 points. She also passed 500 career test points for England during the Championship - a figure bettered only by Jonny Wilkinson and Owen Farrell! In 91 appearances for England Katy has totalled 401 points and is a major player in the England set-up.

We hope these players and the upcoming Six Nations have inspired you to get your rugby and kicking up to scratch. Why not try our free beginners guide to kicking? You can download it right now here. Taking you through loads of tips, skills and getting you to put it to the test.
